I love what you've written about destiny. Your examples from your own life are inspiring! A group I'm coaching is examining this question of destiny now. We each look at our own uniqueness for the clues to what our purpose in the world is. What are my qualities and what service can they be for humankind? And also how is my passion already showing up? Thank you for your excellent commentary on the subject.

Thanks, Susan, for your feedback and glad that the examples from my life are helpful. I appreciate how you've added in the questions that one should be asking that get at one's destiny. It sounds like the group that you are coaching is in good hands!

Very inspirational. Destiny is a moment by moment choosing in congruence. A battle between our wills and our won'ts. Our ego and our higher self. Btw...love Julia Cameron quote.

Deb, I love how you've brought in the idea of congruence. There is a wonderful alignment that happens when you are fulfilling your destiny. I know that you know this through your own experience.

The Julia Cameron quote reminds me that fulfilling our destiny is sacred work.

My whole life has been evolving around these key questions: Am I fulfilling my destiny? How can I fulfill my destiny? Help me to fulfill my destiny?!!! Sometimes I have the impression I'm doing "it", sometimes I struggle and I doubt... Another version of the question is: Am I in sync with my passion? What is my passion? In my work jargon, we also call it our "noble goal".
Something struck a cord in what you wrote: "It wasn't something I wouldn't have done for free". It's an interesting compass to reflect on. What I do for free with great pleasure today? My cartoons or my graphics novels. I hope one day i will be able to earn my living with it, but it's not why I'm doing it. It was a call when I was a child, that I dropped because of my ego-voice: I cannot be a good enough drawer/writer. It took me 30 years to get back to my passion. Thank you for bringing the topic on the table. It's quite an essential reflection in these times. Oh and by the way, right now, I also love reading Tarots for free! We'll see where I go with this one!

Carole, I love your enthusiasm for the journey and the questions around fulfilling your destiny. Your own example of returning to a childhood passion, after 30 years, is an inspiration for all of us. It's never too late!

Re: reading Tarot cards. Someday, when we do meet in person, I would love for you to do a reading.

Having a career will help you fulfill the dream you always had. You may be inspired by a book, a song, or a piece of advice from a dear teacher. It matters who inspired you to work hard, but it matter more who that you be proud of the path you've chosen.
