Do you know of someone who is dealing with a life-threatening illness or caring for someone who is? If so, check out a new social networking site, In Light of Dying.
Two years ago, I was part of a team to launch the Conscious Living, Conscious Leaving blog and podcast. The podcast featured interviews I did with my friend, Ilene Kouzel, as she was dying of ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's disease.)
I've since stepped away from the project but the team has gone on to create a community-based social networking site that provides a blog, podcast, and video. The tagline for the site is "Provoking Conversations About Consciously Dying and Living." The original interviews I did with Ilene (with future episodes in the queue, from over ten hours of taping) are part of the site. Click the tab titled "Podcasts."
What I know about creating online communities is that it doesn't work without participation. So if this topic interests you, let your voice be heard. Leave a comment. Start a thread. All voices are welcome.
